Carwraps® Demo at Print 09

7 Minute HoodSeptember 14th, 2009-Chicago, IL.-Carwraps® took center stage in the Mutoh booth this week (and last) at Print 09 in Chicago. Todd LaBrie explained the “ins and outs” while Justin Pate demonstrated just how efficient and stress-free the vehicle wrapping process can be.

While Todd ran down the exact list of equipment, materials and training needed to run a successful and profitable vehicle wrapping company, Justin wowed the audience by wrapping the side of Mutoh Prius in less than 25 minutes.

The speedy demonstrations were accomplished with the help of Avery’s MPI 1005 EZ RS/DOL 1060 vinyl combo and the superb printing from a “banding-free” Mutoh Valuejet 1614. The hood took 7 minutes to install and if that wasn’t enough, the roof took less than 8.

Justin also explained the common misconceptions associated with “claims of speed” and stated that “rushing” is not to be confused with working quickly, methodically and efficiently. Among the many pointers Justin offered to the crowd, he said “I know with each vehicle and panel, exactly how I will position it, hinge it, and the direction I’ll work with my squeegee.” Justin continued, ” I don’t wait to decide what I’m going to do. I know exactly what I’m doing the entire time I install.”

Newbie and professional installers alike could hardly believe their eyes. “I just never knew it was possible to do a whole car by myself in one day—let alone in just a few hours.” Said James Sharpe from Image Wraps in Elgin, IL. It’s true that Justin makes it looks easy, but he also is a meticulous, conscientious and extremely successful graphic installer who wants to share this knowledge—he calls UGIS (Universal Graphic Installation System) with the rest of the vehicle wraps community to make vehicle wrap installation efficient, effective and more profitable for everyone.

That’s what the Carwraps® Vehicle Wrap training is all about.
